Melbourne Cup Day

Melbourne Cup is one Australia’s biggest horse races. We all know the event wouldn’t be the same without a fabulous hat!

Did you know that those hats you see worn at the event with headpieces and all kinds of adornments are known as fascinators? Fascinating! The best news is we’ll be making our very own fascinators to celebrate the big event.

Road Safety Week

November 16, All BlueBird Centres

Superheroes have capes and can usually fly. To shine the spotlight on Road Safety Week (November 15-21), we’ll be celebrating heroes of a different kind.

They’re the folks who keep our roads safe for us each and every day. For this special event, we’ll be helping children and young people learn more about road safety, and who our road safety heroes are, including those who design our roads. Don’t miss this super cool learning day!

Recycling Week

November 8, All BlueBird Centres

National Recycling Week was started by not-for-profit organisation Planet Ark back in 1996 to help us reduce our waste and recycle right. We’ve come a long way since then, but there’s still so much to learn.

This year’s theme is “Recovery – A future beyond the bin”. The three main areas of focus are: packaging, e-waste and food. A not-to-miss day to plant the seeds of knowledge in our future generations!

Family Participation

At BlueBird childcare, parents are considered a key part of the BlueBird family! That’s why there are plenty of opportunities for parents, guardians and siblings to be involved through volunteering, fundraising, special activities and functions, offering suggestions and providing feedback.

As parents, you’re one of your child’s most important teachers. Through your nurturing, care and mentoring, your child learns to thrive in the world. That’s why we love involving families at our centres. If your child has any individual needs, including cultural requirements, we’re happy to help.
