About BlueBird
Redefining Family
Family [’ famili] noun
Life’s greatest blessing; a group that dreams, laughs, plays and loves together; those whom you can always count on; always present not only in the good times; the most precious gift.
From the beginning, BlueBird childcare had a dream – to provide kids with a welcoming home away from home. Two decades on, thanks to our incredible team of educators, chefs and bus drivers, our legacy is simply getting stronger.
OUR STORY
From Little Things, Big Things Grow
In 2001, Jane Chambers was at uni studying primary school teaching when she had a startling realisation, she didn’t want to teach in schools.
So instead, she found a little blue house on Clydebank Avenue in Busselton, complete with BlueBird stained glass windows, and opened a childcare centre the following year. She was only 21 and a first time mum! The project expanded quickly to occupy the two houses next door, and the community centre down the road.
Fast forward 20 years and BlueBird childcare has taken flight to become one of the South West region’s most trusted privately owned providers with five centres to its name. Jane is still very much the heart and soul of the business, along with a passionate team and a bunch of award-winning services.
Meet BlueBird Team

Jane
Founder & Owner

Emma
Area Manager
Emma has been in early education for almost 20 years and is a longtime, not to mention indispensable member of the Bluebird family. One of her greatest passions is supporting her team to grow. Something you might not know about her – she’s a terrible cook!

Judy
Accounts
Judy is our chief numbers cruncher. She’s an integral part of the team, keeping things running super smoothly behind the scenes. When she’s not knee deep in bookkeeping and administration, Judy can be found having fun with her many interests, including kayaking.

Katrina
Albert Street Director
Katrina is one of the regulars in the BlueBird childcare family (six years and counting), and she couldn’t be happier. It’s a far cry from her childhood dream to become a butcher like her dad! Out of work, you can find Katrina tinkering on the piano. As a naturally kind person, she wants to help children thrive, and goes out of her way to help at risk kids).

Louise
Central Director
Louise is an industry veteran, with more than 25 years’ experience in childcare. As Director of BlueBird Central, she gets to work with a fantastic team dedicated to delivering quality care. Nothing tickles her more than watching the centre grow into a bustling community.

Manureeta
Clydebank Director
Along with more than a decade of experience in early childhood education, Manureeta also has a Master of Management. She loves being part of the BlueBird family and chocolate ice cream, and has a special talent for dance.

Sam
Margaret River LDC Director
Sam is a qualified teacher in Early Childhood and worked as a director for three years in Perth, before moving back to her hometown of Margaret River to join the Bluebird family. In celebration of her fun-filled childhood, Sam’s favourite memory is of jumping in puddles with no gumboots on!

Izza
Margaret River OSCH Director
Izza has a degree in psychology that has inspired her to work closely with children. With a relish for challenges and constant learning, she’s also got qualifications in school age and early childhood education. Just like many of the kids she works with, her favourite ice cream is chocolate (and caramel too).
