About BlueBird in the South West
BlueBird started in 2001 in a cute little blue house on Clydebank Avenue in Busselton. BlueBird has come a long way since becoming one of the region's largest and longest-running childcare operators.
We now have 5 childcare centres in the South West. Our busiest service is based in a gorgeous heritage-listed building in the heart of Busselton and we have two new childcare centres in Margaret River.
BlueBird is the perfect solution for working parents who want to make sure their kids are safe, nurtured and entertained while they are away!
We are the only Margaret River and Busselton services providing a full service, tailored programs, and undivided personal attention. Our mission is to provide next-level service and make every child happy while learning, playing and growing in our exciting, fun, and friendly environment.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is based on imaginative learning and fun. By blending indoor and outdoor classrooms and environments in a home-away-from-home environment, we are able to create a space where children feel empowered and ready to learn.
Thanks to our in-house chefs, BlueBird kids are guaranteed a rotating menu of homemade, yummy, and super-healthy meals including produce picked from our own gardens! We are constantly seeking input from our team, families and the community to further develop our services and ensure we are providing a quality service that meets our families' needs.
We pride ourselves on reliability, quality and excellence. You can rest assured that your child will have the best experience at BlueBird!
Our Achievements
We are humbled and proud to have achieved a number of milestones during our 20-year history.

Who We Are
From Little Things, Big Things Grow🌷
In 2001, Jane Chambers was at uni studying primary school teaching when she had a startling realisation…
She didn’t want to teach in schools!
So instead, she found a little blue house on Clydebank Avenue in Busselton, complete with BlueBird stained glass windows, and opened a centre the following year. She was only 21 years old and a first-time mum! The project soon evolved to include two more houses next door, and the community centre down the road.
Fast forward 20 years and BlueBird has taken flight to become one of the South West region’s most trusted, privately owned providers with 5 centres to its name. Jane is still very much the heart and soul of the business, along with a passionate team and a bunch of award-winning services.

Our Programs
We believe that it’s never too early to start learning and that it’s vital to always present opportunities for children to learn and grow as soon as they start in our setting.
Our educators are handpicked for their dedication to teaching, and their natural ability to connect with children. Many of them have been part of BlueBird for many years! Our team are highly experienced, motivated to keep learning and growing and dedicated to a natural and innovative teaching philosophy.
We strive to provide a fun and educational environment for our kids! By developing our programs with curriculum experts and childcare specialists, we’ve honed in on what makes early education successful and created a learning program that allows our children to enter school seamlessly.
Each member of our team has unique superpowers. We have a dedication and passion for natural teaching and creating wonderful experiences and memories for your kids!
Founder & Owner
Jane has a special knack for conjuring up new ideas and is particularly inspired by creating safe spaces for children to learn and grow. She and her husband have five children. They are also foster parents, so there’s never a dull moment in the house.
Emma
Area Manager
Emma has been in early education for almost 20 years and is a long time & indispensable member of the Bluebird family.
One of her greatest passions is supporting her team to grow. Something you might not know about her – she’s a terrible cook!
Judy
Accounts
Judy is our chief numbers cruncher. She’s an integral part of the team, keeping things running super smoothly behind the scenes. When she’s not knee-deep in bookkeeping and administration, Judy can be found having fun with her many interests, including kayaking.
Katrina
Katrina is one of the regulars in the BlueBird family (six years and counting), and she couldn’t be happier. It’s a far cry from her childhood dream to become a butcher like her dad! Out of work, you can find Katrina tinkering on the piano. As a naturally kind person, she wants to help children thrive, and goes out of her way to help at-risk kids.
Louise
Central Director
Louise is an industry veteran, with more than 25 years of experience in care. As Director of BlueBird Central, she gets to work with a fantastic team dedicated to delivering quality care. Nothing tickles her more than watching the centre grow into a bustling community.
Teaghan
Clydebank Director
Over the past 16 years, she has worked in various childcare centres around the south west region, before finding her home at BlueBird. Teaghan’s commitment to her work has become a significant part of her life, and she pours her heart and soul into her role as Director! Teaghan’s dedication to BlueBird leaves little room for hobbies, but she wouldn’t have it any other way!
Karen
Bus Service Manager
Karen is one of BlueBird’s most familiar faces. She’s been with Bluebird for six years, and is inspired by the countless children and families she’s met – and helped support along the way. As the Manager of one of BlueBird’s most essential services, she has contributed mountains to building stronger communities.
